My Story: Grace, Faithfulness, and Home

I'm E.C. Samuel-a Christian writer and author whose passion is helping others discover the sufficiency of Christ and the ocean of God's grace that sustains us through every season of life.

My journey is woven through with God's faithfulness in ways I could never have planned. My oldest sister and my wife's mother, both faithful believers, saw something God was doing years before either of us understood it ourselves. While I was finishing college in California and my wife was serving as a nurse in New Delhi, they began a correspondence that would change everything. Through an engagement service they arranged, my wife flew to San Francisco International Airport, and we met in person for the very first time-a meeting orchestrated by God's perfect timing and plan.

Pastor Don Chitwood married us at Faith Chapel in Fresno, California, and for nearly 54 years, she has been my answer to the deep longing in my heart. While I felt the absence of my father early in life, God filled that void through her grace, wisdom, and unwavering faith. She has been my saving grace through every relocation, every new city, every season-because home is simply wherever she is.

Together, we've learned that Jesus Christ and Him crucified is our refuge and strength. My wife carries an instinct born from her upbringing to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith, and to minimize the distractions of this world. No matter what circumstances we've faced-and there have been many-we've always had a refuge in Him. We are utterly unworthy of His grace, yet He pours it out lavishly. We deserve nothing but what Christ has already secured for us: forgiveness, righteousness, and a hope that reaches all the way to heaven.

Every chapter of our life, God has planned with the utmost precision. And every chapter has taught us that His grace is sufficient, His faithfulness is certain, and His love is the anchor we return to again and again.
